History of Grace UCC Taneytown
Grace United Church of Christ has been part of the Taneytown community for more than 250 years. Our historic sanctuary is full of beautiful stain glass windows and an amazing organ. We have been active part of the community in many way including serving the needs of the hungry, and offering quality daycare through Grace United Learning Center.
But what matters most to us isn’t just our history… it’s who we’re becoming. While our church has deep roots going back centuries - we’re not stuck in the past. We’re creating new ways to connect, including more casual and accessible worship experiences designed for people who may not feel at home in a traditional Sunday service. Because church should meet people where they are.

We’re a church that believes faith should be real, relevant, and connected to everyday life. If you love a traditional service, Sunday morning is for you.
However, we know that for many people, church can feel intimidating, unfamiliar, or even uncomfortable.
With our new Contemporary Music and Worship Service, our goal is simple - to help people understand the message of the Bible in a way that actually connects to life today. That means a message that makes sense and feels relevant, and music that is authentic and uplifting.
Whether you're navigating stress, relationships, purpose, or just trying to make sense of life, we believe faith has something meaningful to offer.
