Gracious and Loving God,
In the beginning, You placed humanity in a beautiful garden where all of our needs were met. And you called us to walk with You, trust You, and live in the abundance of Your presence.
Yet we confess that, like Adam and Eve, we often ignore the wonderful blessings you have bestowed upon us and we focus instead on what we do not have. So often this leads to temptation and compromise as we try to gain control instead of trusting in you to provide what is needed. We listen to voices of fear, pride, and temptation rather than Your voice of love and truth. We hide behind our failures, our regrets, and our shame, forgetting that even in our brokenness, You continue to seek us.
When You called out in the garden, “Where are you?” it was not a question of judgment but an invitation to return. And today, You still call to us. You invite us out of hiding and into a deeper relationship with you. You remind us that no mistake, no failure, and no distance can separate us from Your desire to walk with us once again.
Lord, breathe new life into us. Help us tend the gardens You have entrusted to our care—our families, our friendships, our work, our church, and our community. Teach us to trust Your wisdom above our own and to choose the path that leads to life.
As we worship tonight, open our hearts to Your presence. May we hear Your voice, experience Your grace, and find hope in the promise that even when humanity fell, Your plan for redemption had already begun.
We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, who restores what was broken and leads us back into fellowship with You.
