Heavenly Father,
Today we gather in the spirit of Pentecost—remembering that powerful moment when Your Holy Spirit came like wind and fire, filling ordinary people with extraordinary faith, courage, and purpose.
Father, we thank you for all the wonderful gifts you have given us. Your son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, and the Holy Spirit who lives in us and guides us. We thank You that Pentecost was not just an event long ago, but a promise that still lives today. Your Spirit is still moving. Still speaking. Still comforting. Still transforming hearts and lives. Help us to hear that still small voice, particularly when it is saying things we do not want hear. Help us to follow that voice when the evil one is offering compromise.
Holy Spirit remind us that we are never alone. In moments of joy, You celebrate with us. In moments of grief, You comfort us. In moments of weakness, You strengthen us. Your presence goes with us into every conversation, every challenge, and every decision we make.
Lord, ignite in us the same fire that burned in the hearts of the early church—a fire of compassion, unity, worship, and boldness. Help us not simply to attend church, but to be the church: people who carry hope, kindness and light wherever we go.
And Lord, as we lift up the needs of our congregation and community today, we ask Your Spirit to surround those who are hurting, sick, lonely, grieving, or searching for hope. Let them feel Your presence in a real and powerful way.
Come, Holy Spirit. Move among us today. Renew us, strengthen us, and send us out filled with Your love and Your power.
In the name of Jesus we pray,
– Amen.
